New Works - Visiting Artists

The Visiting Artists Programme (established in 1980) is a major collaborative aspect of Graphic Studio Dublin's annual programme. Artists whose main work methodology is not fine art print, but who work with masterprinters, make a suite of prints. This year's Visiting Artists exhibition will showcase an interesting mix of leading artists such as Hughie O'Donoghue, Richard Gorman, Michael Cullen, Diana Copperwhite and Martin Gale.

Graphic Studio Dublin and Graphic Studio Gallery marks 30 years of its Visiting Artists programme and exhibitions. The scheme pioneered by Mary Farl Powers in 1980 allows artists usually working in other media, mainly painting and sculpture, to work with a master printer to produce an original fine art print in a limited edition. It has attracted a huge number of renowned Irish and International names in art and this year is no exception with works from Hughie O'Donoghue, Richard Gorman, Martin Gale and Diana Copperwhite.

Furthermore, a significant number Visiting Artists who have passed through Graphic Studio Dublin's doors feature in a major exhibition at IMMA open from 8th September - 3rd January 2011 as part of Graphic Studio Dublin's 50th anniversary.

1/10 - Year 1 - 2010

Graphic Studio Dublin published sponsors portfolios during 1960's to 1980's. These usually consisted of six prints presented in a portfolio and in later publications a poem was also added. These works were produced to raise funds for the running of the studio and were a great success.

We are relaunching the Sponsors' Portfolios as part of our 50th anniversary 2010. We will be publishing ten portfolios over ten years, (one per year). Each year there will be an edition of 75 bespoke folders each of which will contain four prints and one piece of writing.

The commissioned artists and writer in 2010 are Jean Bardon, Carmel Benson, Roddy Doyle, Kelvin Mann and Donald Teskey RHA.
