Aedín McGinn, Visual Art Coordinator at Luan Gallery said:
'It is hard to believe that since our recent opening we have already featured such a wealth and variety of artistic talent. For a space that is still very much in its infancy, maintaining a consistent high standard in our programming is paramount. That said we are utterly delighted to present Remastered as the show features some of the finest artistic talents of our time'.
The Visiting Artists' Programme at the Graphic Studio Dublin has been thriving since 1980. The premise behind the programme is to mentor artists in printmaking processes, helping them develop new skills and new ways of working. The studio invites International and Irish artists to work with master printmakers - developing a body of prints that expands the boundaries of their usual practices to include fine art prints. According to the Graphic Print Studio, this creative collaboration manifests itself in special and often unexpected ways.
Featuring a selection of great talent, the show welcomes works from the likes of: Tony O'Malley, Barbara Rae, William Crozier and Brian Bourke and features a variety of beautiful editions of lithographs, carborundum prints, etchings and monoprints.
To accompany Remastered, Luan also welcomes the 3rd instalment of the Shane Cullen tabula-like texts Fragmens sur les Institutions Republicaines IV.
Admission to the gallery is free for groups and individuals. School or group tours and workshops can be arranged by contacting the gallery in advance on 090 6442154.
Luan Gallery is open Tuesday - Saturday 11.00 - 17.00, Sunday 12.00 - 17.00 and is closed on Mondays.
