On The Grand Canal
3rd December – 21st January 2022
Inspiring generations of writers, a new exhibition at the Graphic Studio, in partnership with IPUT Real Estate now explores Dublin’s Grand Canal through art.
This is the Canal as you know and love it, and as you have never seen it before. There are small moments and grand vistas, gentle abstractions, and the instantly recognisable iconic Poolbeg chimneys. Maps, branches, wildlife, sunrise, and sunset go to show the Canal in its different seasons and moods.
There are peaceful walks where branches dip into the waters, redbrick Victorian houses, lighted stretches playing host to cafés and restaurants, and revitalised quarters of boardwalks, buildings, cycle paths and parks.
In a new exhibition at Graphic Studio Gallery, On the Grand Canal, the visitor can imagine the Canal through the eyes of 32 artists.
Each limited-edition print is priced at €220 unframed, and €330 framed. All 32 artists are members of Graphic Studio Dublin. On the Grand Canal runs at the Graphic Studio Gallery, Cope Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, December 3 to January 21. (Closing for Christmas, December 24 to January 5, 2023).
On The Grand Canal
Inspiring generations of writers, a new exhibition at the Graphic Studio, in partnership with IPUT Real Estate now explores Dublin’s Grand Canal through art.
The Canal marks the edge of the historic core of Dublin City. As its banks are revitalised, the exhibition explores its bridges, locks, walks and walls. Patterns of light and shade, cats and swans, maps and chimneys appear. This is the Canal as you know and love it, and maybe also as you have never seen it before?
Runs December 3 to January 21
