Ed Miliano
Ed Miliano was born in New York in 1954. After earning a BFA from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, he worked for over twenty-five years as a designer and illustrator in the USA and Ireland before dedicating himself fully to his art practice.
Miliano’s work often explores views through windows and doorways—visual motifs that have become central to his artistic language. In 2012, he presented Diary at the Royal Hibernian Academy, an ambitious project consisting of 366 small oil paintings capturing the view from his studio, painted daily over the course of a year and displayed on shelves extending over ten meters.
After spending four years living and working in Tokyo—a period that deeply influenced his work—he created the No Ordinary Place series, exhibited both in Japan and later at Ballinglen Gallery in County Mayo, Ireland.
Other notable solo exhibitions of his work have been presented. In 2022, Ed became a member of Graphic Studio Dublin and regularly exhibits at Graphic Studio Gallery. He is presently working towards a solo presentation of new work at the gallery this September.
