Michael Fitzharris
Mike Fitzharris began his formal art studies in his hometown at the Limerick School of Art in the early 1970s, continuing to postgraduate level at the Hochschule für Bilden Kunst in Berlin. His work has become increasingly acknowledged and he has enjoyed a run of solo shows since the early 1990s at Dublin galleries including the Oriel Gallery, Hillsboro Fine Art, Jorgensen Fine Art as well as the Vanguard Gallery in Cork.
Fitzharris has also been represented at high profile groups shows at the Royal Hibernian Academy, Royal Ulster Academy, Oireachtas Art Exhibition and EV+A. In 1990 he was awarded the Taylor de Vere Award at the RHA, following which he received two awards from the Arts Council and one from the Royal Ulster Academy. His work is housed in major collections including AIB, the Office of Public Works and Dublin Port and Docks Authority.
