Debbie Godsell

Debbie Studied at the Limerick college of Art and Design and the Crawford College of Art, where she graduated with a Masters in Art. She has lectured at the Art Departments of The Crawford College of Art, Galway Institute of Technology and Limerick school of Art and Design and is currently Director of the second year Art programme CSN College Cork. Her work is widely collected in Ireland by the National Gallery of Ireland, The OPW, Cork University Hospital, St James Hospital, Crawford Municipal Gallery, U.CC, U.C.D, Cork Opera House and The Port of Cork. Last year the Crawford Gallery Acquired two of her recent works as part of the National Collection. She is a recipient of the Cork County Arts Office Tyrone Guthrie Bursary 2017 Award and the Cork County Arts office Ballinglen Artist Residency 2019. Debbie also provides a Professional Art Consultancy Service, Current projects include the Dean Hotels, Cork and Galway.

Recent exhibitions include New Threads, Crawford Art Gallery, 2021, Land under the Waves, Cork Printmakers at Nano Nagle Place 2021, Home, West Cork Creates Exhibition (2021), Visions of an Unsettled Earth at the Sirius art Centre August 2020, RHA Annual Exhibtion 2020, Seen not heard (2019) at the Crawford Art Gallery, Time and the other Doswell Gallery (2019) Visions of half- light, Macroom Town Hall Gallery, funded by Cork County Arts office ( 2018) and Site, Doswell Gallery (2018).

Debbie is a shortlisted artist for the Zurich Portrait prize 2018 at the National Gallery of Ireland. She has also been the recipient of Arts Council travel bursary and a Cork City Council Arts Award.
