Michele Hetherington

Michele Hetherington is a Visual Artist living and working in Dublin, Ireland. Michele holds an MFA and BA in Fine Art Printmaking from the National College of Art and Design.

Her practice emerges from a curiosity surrounding the ideas of Temporality and Ephemerality. Inquiries into the concepts of Time, Space and Light are poetically looked upon by using the processes and materiality of Printmaking, Film Photography, Sound, and Text. In a state of constant flux, the works have elements of fleeting, uncertainty, incompleteness, evolving and dissolving matter.

Hetherington is a studio member and Etching tutor at Graphic Studio Dublin, a professional member of Visual Artists Ireland, and her practice is supported by the Arts Council of Ireland and Fingal County Councils Arts Office. Awards include; Arts Council Agility Award, Fingal County Council Artists Support Scheme bursary and Fingal County Council Arts Office Graduate Award 2018. Exhibitions to date include; Draíocht; Graphic Studio Gallery; Swords Castle (Solo Show); Lismore Castle Arts; Royal Hibernian Academy; Solstice Arts Centre; Pallas Projects and University of Fine Art, Tokyo, Japan. Michele Hetherington’s work is held in the OPW collection and Private Collections throughout Ireland, Europe, USA and Japan.
