Desmond Kenny is an interdisciplinary artist who works in paint, sculpture and print. He joined Graphic Studio Dublin in 2005, where he has worked in a variety of printmaking techniques including etching, aquatint and dry-point. He is now focused on screen-printing, creating multilayered, unique one-off works that combine watercolur, acrylic and mixed media.
He works on multiple works at a time, creating brightly coloured lyrical compositions. He has always liked the story of Pierre Bonnard repainting sections of his paintings, hanging in the Luxembourg, while a friend distracted the guard. His approach is in
