BRIAN LALOR, artist and writer, born Cork 1941. Studied architecture and fine art, Crawford School of Art, Cork, Hammersmith College of Art and Design, London. Young Irish Artists’ Foundation Award (1966). Worked in architecture in UK, Germany, Israel. Prizewinner, Max Reinhardt Theatre competition, Tel Aviv (1969). Director, Architectural Department, Temple Mount Excavations, Jerusalem. First publication: ’The Jerusalem Guide’ (1973). Member Graphic Studio Dublin 1991-2011, Chairman 2006 -‘08. Author ‘Ink-Stained Hands’ (2011). Chairman Cork Printmakers, 2012-14. Joint Curator, Blue House Gallery, Schull, Co. Cork, 2013-16. General Editor of international multi-award-winning ‘The Encyclopaedia of Ireland’ (2003). Brian Lalor has had over thirty solo exhibitions worldwide, is represented in public and corporate collections including the National Gallery of Ireland, Crawford Art Gallery, University College Cork, Office of Public Works, Zuckerman Museum of Fine Art, USA, Eli Lilly Corporation. Recent group exhibitions include Glucksman and Crawford Art Galleries. Print Retrospective (1980-2010), Graphic Studio Gallery.
