Vaida Varnagiene
Vaida Varnagiene is a multidisciplinary artist and printmaker with a background in Urban design and Landscape architecture.
In 2015, Vaida completed her BA (Honours) in Fine Art at the Technological University of Dublin. In the same year, she received the Graphic Studio Dublin Graduate Award and has been a member of GSD ever since.
Vaida works in a broad range of printed techniques, such as intaglio etching, digital printing, and recently she started using woodblock printing (mokuhanga) after participation in the residency MI-LAB at Lake Kawaguchi (Japan). Vaida has participated in numerous art residencies, including the Centre Culturel Irlandais Art Residency in Paris (France) in 2020.
Vaida’s work has been acquired by OPW, Trinity College Dublin, the China Printmaking Museum, and many private art collectors worldwide. Her works are included in the collections of different art museums in Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, China, Japan and many other institutions. She has exhibited in many group shows in Ireland and internationally.
Born in Klaipeda, Lithuania, Vaida has lived and worked in Dublin, Ireland since 2007.
