Under the same sky
Info
Under the Same Sky brings together new work by Michele Hetherington and Elke Thönnes, rooted in a sensitivity to landscape, seascape, and the shifting skies above. The exhibition unfolds as a quiet conversation between land, water, and air, where time slows and observation deepens.
Light drifts, weather turns, horizons dissolve and reform. In these moments of change and stillness, both artists trace the subtle rhythms of the natural world, capturing what is fleeting as much as what endures. Their work meets in a shared awareness of atmosphere and openness—of standing beneath a sky that connects all ground below.
Under the Same Sky invites the viewer to linger, to breathe, and to look again—beneath a sky that is never the same twice.
Michele Hetherington is a Kildare-based visual artist and master printmaker. Through her practice, Michele contemplates and reflects upon concepts of light and dark, land and time—where perception unfolds rather than resolves. Landscapes emerge and dissolve within shifting shadows and atmosphere, tracing the slow dissolution of matter as light recedes at nightfall. Her practice employs multiple printmaking processes including carborundum, drypoint, and letterpress.
Elke Thönnes is a Visual Artist residing and creating in Dublin and a studio member of Graphic Studio Dublin.
