'New works' - James McCreary & Lars Nyberg

Following James McCreary's highly acclaimed retrospective show at in February 2005, McCreary returns with a dramatic series of mezzotints. A master of mezzotint working from dark to light, McCreary burnishes and scrapes back the raised surface of the copper plate to reveal strong and colourful motifs. His delicate use of vivid patterns contrasts boldly with the rich dark backgrounds of the images. James McCreary was elected an Aosdána member in 2005.

'Dublin Port Print'

Just beyond East Wall Road is a different world. It stretches along the lower reaches of the Liffey buzzing with movement, colour and sound, a dynamic, crowded space full of the hints of other places. Through it we are brought much of the necessary stuff of our everyday lives and yet most of us know little about how it really works.
