'il giardino' - New works by Cliona Doyle
Cliona Doyle's new works were inspired by and made on location at 'Il Certose di Pontignamo', a 14th century monastery just outside Sienna. The monastery overlooks formal walled gardens, which contain an extensive orchard and olive grooves. In this show the artist explores the significance of a medieval garden both for it’s symbolic meanings, aesthetic qualities and a means to provide sustenance for the monastery and it’s inhabitants.

'Childscapes' - Carmel Benson
Combining figurative and abstract elements, this work is drawn from themes of childhood and nature. Benson's use of corborundum in printmaking creates particularly rich velvety areas of colour and texture. With this strong use of colour, pattern, light and the simplification of perspective, it seeks to explore the integration or isolation of the individual in space and time.
